American Alpine Institute Ltd- Environment Label holderActivity: All American Alpine Institute activities are covered by the UIAA Environmental Label. This includes all mountaineering courses, rock courses, and ice climbing courses, as well as leadership programs, guided ascents throughout the world, and expeditions throughout the world. Experience:AAI has been a leader in environmental protection in the U.S. and in its work while visiting other countries. In 1994 AAI served on the organizing team that established Leave No Trace, Inc. as a stand-alone national non-profit, dedicated to the promulgation of the LNT ethic and procedures in climbing, trekking, and all mountain travel. Also in 1994, AAI gained the commitment of 44 guide services in the US to adopt LNT as their environmental ethic and procedure.
