Climb legendary Mt Kazbek in Georgia

Where: Kazbek Gorge mountains
Who: Young people from 16 years of age

The Club Mountain Traveller (CMT) on behalf of the Mountaineering & Climbing Association of Georgia invites young people from UIAA member federations to the international youth "Mountaineering School" in Georgia. The highlight of the summit is an attempt on Mt Kazbek (5,047m).

YOUTH LEADER TRAINING SEMINAR IN SLOVENIA

Where: In Mountaineering Training Centre Bavšica in Bavšica valley

A UIAA approved seminar to train youth leaders being held in Slovenia this summer is a unique opportunity for young climbers from around the world to learn how to teach mountaineering to children. The seminar takes place at the Mountaineering Training Centre Bavšica  in the scenic Bavšica Valley. It is the main training facility used by the Alpine Association of Slovenia (Planinska zveza Slovenije) to train mountain guides, mountaineering group mentors and youth leaders.

The seminar will be leaded by well-known and experienced lecturers.

DISCOVER THE WORLD AROUND - CANCELED

Where: Sondrio region of Italy in the Valmalenco

Who: 10 – 14 years

A perfect mountain opportunity for 10 - 14 year olds and their leaders based in the beautiful Sondrio region of Italy in the Valmalenco entitled "Discovering the world around" hosted by Club Alpine Italiano (CAI). You will stay in the “Gerly Porro” Hut - 1960m  and have a chance to explore this fascinating mountain landscape including Sissone valley minerals, local peoples lives, alpine history, weather and transhumance, lake Palu and even a mining museum. Take this chance to share the mountains, techniques and experiences with slides and video together with participants from different countries - and of course delicious Italian food. They are waiting for you...

“Mt. ELBRUS – 2012” International Youth Expedition

July 9 - 20
Where: Elbrus, Caucasus
Who: 18 – 30 years

  To climb the highest peak of the Caucasus and Europe - Mt. Elbrus (5642m.) is a dream of many mountaineers. The gorgeous panoramic view from the top of this mountain is the souvenir climbers take with them and remember all their lives.
Grand Elbrus massive is situated slightly to the North from the main Caucasus Range, right in the central of the Caucasus. It is covered with ice and over than 20 glaciers start from there.

Mountaineers from Ukraine invite you to participate in the joint ascent to Mt. Elbrus in summer 2012.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CLIMBING CAMP

July 7 - 12
Where: Ariège, South of France
Who: 16 – 22 years

UIAA Global Youth Summit international youth climbing meet with FFCAM in Ariège, France for 16-22 year olds. A top location in the French Pyrenees to experience a variety of climbing styles, single to multi pitch and big wall on different types of rock, granite or limestone – take your pick. Partner local Toulouse climbers and enjoy the sun!

International Youth Rock Climbing And Mountaineering
Festival “Europe – Asia 2012”

July 8 - August 2
Where:  Yekaterinburg, Ural, Krasnoyarsk, Stolby, Eastern Sayan, Russia
Who: 18 – 25 years

Starting in the Ural mountains on the "Shikhan" rocks the festival moves on to explore the unique Stolby rock features near Krasnoyarsk where it is possible to enjoy a Russian banya (sauna). After a journey to Handagai gorge by train, bus and on foot there is a chance to experience higher mountains and visit the famous lake of Baikal where the festival concludes in true Russian style. This event is for 18-25 year olds and organised by Vitaly Primerov of the Climbing Federation of Russia. Applications should be received before 16 June 2012.
