The days are devoted to climbing, while nights are spent around the campfire, and the event also includes a conservation component. Additional information American Alpine Club Previous events in 2010 Ice climbing in northern Norway Begins on February 21, 2010 Where: Norway The Norwegian Alpine club invited people to experience ice climbing in northern Norway - Troms and the island of Senja. The biggest waterfall is nearly 600 meters high and is a grade 5. Additional information Coastal Ice Climbing in Artic Norway Women's Mountaineering Festival February 15 - 28, 2010 Where: Lofoten, Norway Women climbers from all over Europe were invited to take part in the Open International Women’s Mountaineering Festival. The unique event combines climbing workshops and an exchange of culture and traditions. The 2010 festival was organised by the Demchenko Russian Alpine Club based in Moscow and Norway's Norsk Tindeklub. Additional information Lofoten festival International Sea Cliff Climbing Meeting, UK May 9 - 16, 2010 Where: Cornwall The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) International Sea Cliff Climbing Meet was a great success with 65 climbers in attendance from 21 different countries. It was based at the Count House, a 200-year-old Climbers' Club Hut perched above Bosigran. Additional information British Mountaineering Council Erydag 2010, Republic of Dagestan June 26 - July 11 Where: Dagestan The Russian Mountaineering Federation invited people belonging to UIAA Member Federations to take part in an international festival in the area around the mountain Erydag (Republic of Dagestan). There was an extreme show put on by the best mountaineers of Russia. Man and women teams competed on 35 difficult routes. Additional information Invitation letter Human Waste - exit strategies conference, United States July 30-31, 2010 Where: Golden, Colorado A select group of non-profit and government agencies teamed up on July 30 and 31, 2010 to present the first international conference on remote human waste management, hosted in the United States.
