Climbing on the impressive traverses of the Bezengi wall and the Northern Array will be the main events of an Open International Mountaineering Meet set in Central Caucasus, Russia.

The Russian Mountaineering Federation (RMF) is planning a three week long festival in Ergaki National Park, and invites two climbers from each country to take part. 

The American Alpine Club (AAC) is preparing to host climbers from all over the world at their second annual International Climbers Meet in October. 

New routes and new friendships were made by  the climbers from 15 different countries who met in Lofoten, Norway between March 8 and 15.

 The Norwegian Alpine Club (NTK) is inviting two climbers from each UIAA member federation to take part in an international winter meet in the Lofoten islands, in the north of Norway, from March 8-15, 2009.

Nearly 50 climbers from 23 countries  took part in the American Alpine Club's first international climbing meet in Indian Creek, Utah from October 3-10.

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is inviting two climbers from each country to take part in their International Winter Climbing Meet in Scotland.

The American Alpine Club is going global this summer, hosting four international climbing events. 

The Russian Mountaineering Federation says the first ever extreme sports festival it has organised, the Red Fox Elbrus Race, was a success.

15-18 May 2008 the Russian Mountaineering Federation and the Red Fox company are organising the Red Fox Elbrus Race festival. The programme includes a high-speed run to the Elbrus Peak, snow-shoes race and ski-mountaineering competitions.
