The UIAA Youth Commission has entered into a partnership with the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) to help UIAA federations and climbing wall operators who are setting up programmes for young climbers.

The UIAA Youth Commission gathered in Bergamo, Italy for a one day meeting on 10 November 2012 to discuss a number of initiatives that will chart the direction of the commission under the leadership of its new president Israfil Ashurly of Azerbaijan.

A video from the Guardian website documents the ascent of Snowdon by scouts, a positive example of youth celebrating the Paralympics 2012 in London, England, in the mountains.

The Mountaineering & Climbing Association of Georgia is pleased to invite young members of the UIAA associations to the international youth Mountaineering School in Georgia between 8 - 15 September.

A UIAA approved seminar to train youth leaders being held in Slovenia this summer is a unique opportunity for young climbers from around the world to learn how to teach mountaineering to young children.

Young mountaineers from Slovenia and India joined their counterparts from Toulouse, France, for an ice climbing training camp organized by the French Alpine Club (Fédération des clubs alpins de montagne) in the Guillestre region.

The village of Khumjung, Nepal, that lies nestled in the shadow of Mount Everest, was the newest venue for the UIAA's expanding series of Global Youth Summit events.
