BMC International Summer meet
02 Jan 2008 From the 11-18th of May 2008, climbers of all nations and abilities will come together at the International Summer Rock Climbing Meet in North Wales. The meet is organised by the British Mountaineering Council, and each federation can nominate two climbers to take part. The meet is a great chance to do lots of climbing and meet climbers from all over the world. There will also be lectures and discussions in the evenings, so that the participants can exchange ideas and experiences. Both men and women can take part. The participants must have reasonable rock climbing experience, but it is not important which grade they can climb. Only two climbers per country will be able to take part. The meet will take place at the National Mountain Centre Plas Y Brenin in North Wales, and the cost is just 85 British Pounds per person and includes accommodation and full board. This is the eight time that the BMC organises an international summer climbing meet. The last one was held in 2006, with 50 international climbers from 21 countries, in addition to the British hosts. The application deadline is 1 February 2008. Please do not book travel tickets until you have received confirmation from the BMC. Please click here for more information and here for the registration form. The BMC is looking forward to welcoming you! |
