BMC to host climbing injury symposium

The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is holding a climbing injury symposium in Sheffield, UK, on November 13 and 14.

The aim is to improve the understanding of climbing related injuries: their prevention, diagnosis and management.

The symposium is designed for doctors, surgeons, allied health professionals, climbers, parents of dedicated climbers, sport and exercise specialists.

UIAA Medical Commission Vice President, Dr David Hillebrandt, who is also a BMC Medical Advisor, is one of the event organisers.

In June, the UIAA MedCom released a new recommendation to improve the reporting of mountaineering injuries.
