Disturbed by recent accidents caused by fixed anchors that failed, the UIAA Safety Commission is warning climbers to be extremely vigiliant in checking for corrosion on anchors in tropical, marine environments.

A Japanese climbing team is raising awareness of permit issues in a sensitive border area in Tibet after being turned back by local people from making a first-ascent attempt on Bugyai Kangri (6,328m).
