Ski Mountaineering

The ISMC is responsible for everything related to International Ski Mountaineering competitions. Its main objectives are the regulation, promotion and development of this sport on an international basis. It encourages sports bonds and friendship among its members and their competitors and officials.

It is particularly responsible for everything related to international competition regulations and rules, and participation therein. It also decides which international Ski Mountaineering competitions are officially recognized by the ISMC-UIAA; awards grants on behalf the ISMC-UIAA, licenses and contracts to members and to other associations involved in the organization of official international competitions and related activities. The ISMC promotes and controls good sports practice and fights doping and any other procedure that may impede sporting equality. The ISMC applies the IOC Medical Code. This body for Ski Mountaineering respects the Olympic charter and develops this sport to become a possible program within the Olympic Games.

The ISMC is open to all member associations of the UIAA that are or intend to be actively engaged is Ski Mountaineering Competitions. The official languages are English and French.
