SUMMARY:2nd UIAA Mountain Sports Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Together with the hosting association\, the Kosovo Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation (FBNSK)\, the UIAA will hold a second edition of the Mountain Sports Symposium\, from 25-26 October 2025\, and running alongside its General Assembly. \nThe Symposium is targeted primarily at climbers and mountaineers\, whether beginners or experts\, from Kosovo and neighbouring countries in the Balkan region\, who wish to explore mountain medicine and safety topics from an international perspective. The event is partnered by the Petzl Foundation. \nAfter a successful inaugural event last April in Bariloche\, Argentina where the UIAA Medical Commission together with experts on training\, and safety topics imparted their knowledge and know-how during a three-day course\, the UIAA was approached to hold a similar event in Kosovo and as part of its General Assembly programme. \nPlease register from the following link. SUMMARY:International Mountain Sports Training Course
DESCRIPTION:The programme has been finalised\, and registration is now open\, for the inaugural International Mountain Sports Training Course – Mountain Medicine\, Techniques & Safety. The event will take place in Bariloche\, Argentina from 19-21 April. The event is jointly organised by the UIAA (International Climbing and Mountaineering Federation)\, FASA (Federación Argentina de Ski Snowboard y Andinismo) and the ISMM (International Society for Mountain Medicine). \nTopics covered during the three-day event include: the environment\, climate change\, dealing with the cold\, altitude & sport climbing\, mountaineers\, women at altitude and mountain rescue in Argentina. The first half of the programme will be dedicated to talks\, the second to a series of practical workshops and a rescue simulation. \nFull details here.
