DESCRIPTION:The 12th Leonidio Climbing Festival returns from 30 October – 1 November. Three days in one of the world’s most remarkable climbing destinations\, with thousands of routes\, breathtaking red-rock landscapes\, and a community of climbers from across the globe. \nThe full programme will be posted here. \nLeonidio a small town in Arcadia\, Peloponnese is located 3 hours south of Athens. It is close to the sea and surrounded by red and grey cliffs of exceptional quality and wild beauty. The traditional town still offers a pleasant way of life and is the perfect place to choose for a relaxing and/or active vacation\, \nCurrently there are more than 2\,500 routes across a wide range of grades\, and there is still potential for many more. Magazines such as Inspiration\, All mountain\, Vertical\, Les Alpes\, Klettern\, Grimper\, Climb Magazine and Jamesak have published articles about climbing in Leonidio since 2013. \nSpecial guest: Chris Sharma\nOne of the most influential climbers of all time joins us in Leonidio. A pioneer of modern sport climbing\, Sharma has redefined the limits of the sport across three decades — from historic first ascents to groundbreaking psicobloc climbs above the sea. SUMMARY:Siurana Climbing Festival
DESCRIPTION:Experience three days of activities and clinics led by athletes\, mountain guides\, instructors\, climbing developers\, photographers and equipment specialists\, along with climbers from all over the world\, to celebrate sport climbing in one of the most emblematic places. \nThe 2026 edition will take place from 14-16 November. \n\nClimbing in Siurana started in the ‘80s with the appearance of the first sport climbing routes. Unlike other areas in the country where sport climbing started from the evolution of traditional climbing\, Siurana became the first place in the peninsula to pioneer this modality.\n\n\nAs is well known\, the history of Siurana is accompanied by mythical routes that marked an era. This is the case of Dios ni Dor (7c+\, FA M. Le Menestrel)\, Odi Social (first 8c of Siurana by Carles Brascó) or Estado Crítico (first 9a onsight in history by Alex Megos) among many others. However\, if there is an emblematic route\, that is La Rambla (9a+). This route was equipped in 1993 by Alex Huber\, and saw its first ascent with Ramon Julián “Ramonet” in 2004. The send of La Rambla placed Siurana as a reference of the world difficulty and the internationalization of the school.\n\n\n\nCurrently\, Siurana has become one of the epicenters of sport climbing. Climbers from all over the world come to know the school attracted by its more than 1\,500 routes of all grades\, its rock\, the variability of styles\, and its environment.
