SUMMARY:2024 Beginners Drytooling and Ice Climbing Camp
DESCRIPTION:The UIAA Ice Climbing Governing Group and the UIAA Youth Commission have come together to put on a beginner ice climbing and drytooling camp to be held in Brno\, Czech Republic from the 11-13 October 2024.  \nThis camp is ideal for climbers from UIAA member federations who are interested in learning more about drytooling and ice climbing alongside other young climbers from around the world. \nThe camp will include basic instruction on footwork and the use of ice axes and attendees will get to climb a variety of beginner drytooling routes and can rapidly progress up to competition level moves and routes.  \nThis camp will be run alongside a UIAA Ice Climbing World Tour Youth Training Camp so participants will get to learn to drytool alongside some of the best young ice climbers in the world. Please note that this camp is a learn to drytooling/ice climbing\, and will require participants to have a basic knowledge of rock climbing either indoors or outdoors (the UIAA will not be able to instruct the basics of climbing).  \nThe three days of training will be directed through the Czech Mountaineering Association on the world famous structure in Brno that has played host to the UIAA Ice Climbing Continental Cup for the past five seasons.  \nPlease refer to the information below and links to the registration form. The UIAA looks forward to seeing you in Brno with ice axes at the ready. \nPlease note that registration for this event is now closed. \n

DESCRIPTION:The UIAA Youth Commission has confirmed details of its first event for 2025. \nThe popular annual Ice Climbing Camp in Guillestre\, Hautes Alpes (France) will be held from 23 February – 1 March. \nThe main goal of this ice climbing camp is to allow youngsters to practice many forms of ice climbing – single pitch\, or routes with multiple pitches\, and also how to manage training. The camp is open to international climbers aged between 16 and 26. SUMMARY:Mountaineering Ireland Summer Alpine Meet
DESCRIPTION:The location for the Mountaineering Ireland Summer Alpine Meet this year is Argentière\, Chamonix\, France. This region is perfectly suited to trekking\, hiking\, climbing and mountaineering\, as well as many other outdoor activities. \nThis Meet is for walkers\, rock climbers\, and mountaineers of all ages and abilities. It is a wonderful opportunity for all Mountaineering Ireland members\, new and old to meet established friends and make new ones\, go walking\, mountaineering and climbing in some of France’s most beautiful scenery. The purpose is to gather like-minded people together in an alpine area where they can walk\, rock climb\, boulder and climb snow covered and rocky alpine peaks. The main emphasis of the meet is to have fun! \nClosing date for booking is 30 April 2025. \nThere is a 10% reduction on some courses booked before 30th March 2025. \nThere is a 10% reduction on some youth (age 18 – 26) courses booked before 30th April 2025. \nFor further information and to help you decide which course is right for you\, please see the Alpine Meet 2025 Information Pack on our website.
