Ice climbing is one of the sports to feature at the 2nd edition of the competition as part of the LYOGOC (Lillehammer Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee)’s Sjoggfest (snow festival). The Sjoggfest programme is designed to encourage visiting athletes and spectators to try out different sports under the guidance of experienced coaches and athletes. Two different activities are organised at the ice climbing venue: ‘Get Active’ which offers the chance for visitors to practice ice climbing; and ‘Showcase’ where top international athletes will provide live demonstrations of the sport.

President Bach had the opportunity to watch a live demonstration and meet some of the international ice climbing athletes and officials present.
