UPDATE: INDIAN MOUNTAINEERING FOUNDATION ORGANISES MAJOR MOUNTAINEERING FESTIVAL
The Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) is organising a Mountaineering Festival at four locations in the Indian Himalaya. Each location is unique offering some truly exciting challenges for international climbers. The aim of the 2018-2019 Mountain Festival is to facilitate easier access to the Indian Himalayas to mountaineers and trekkers from across the globe. The Festival also aims to help climbers develop their mountain skills and understanding of safety practices.
The festival will take place across the following regions. Please note the change of dates communicated to the UIAA on 10 April 2018.
23 July – 12 August, 2018
15 October – 3 November, 2018
20 May – 8 June, 2019
22 July – 11 August, 2019
Climbers from around the world will be able to participate in the various camps at very economical promotional prices. Furthermore, the IMF will facilitate their travel from Delhi Airport to the respective base camp. At the base camp, climbers will be provided with accommodation, meals (included in the cost), guides and equipment as required. A key component of the package is that peak fees are also included and there is no limit to the number of peaks that one can climb during the festival.
