ood day everyone,
As quality engineer, I would like to report an call for inspection for two avalanche shovels to you on behalf of Mammut Sports Group AG.
In order to reach and inform as many consumers as possible I would like to ask you to publish this security call on the official UIAA-website?
The problem is as follows:
Due to a material defect on the part of the supplier, the automatic spring locking mechanism, which is essential for fast and precise guidance when assembling the shovel, may in some cases have a production defect. The spring button that connects the bucket handle to the bucket blade is not properly positioned in all cases, which can cause the bucket blade to disengage from the handle.
In order to inform our customers who have already received one of the potentially affected shovels, today attached call for inspeciton is communicated to our customers and published on our homepage under the following link:

Additionally a information on our website (“Website Info Shovel Issue Mock Up”) and social media posts (“Instagram Stories Shovel Issue”) will be published to make our customers aware of the potential malfunction of the shovel.
