The French Alpine Club (FFCAM) wants mountaineers worldwide to know that while final approvals are pending for the new Goûter Hut on Mont Blanc (which has not yet opened), online reservation for the old hut is available.
The bookings for the hut are from June until September and it is possible to book until the day of arrival at 10h00 – if spaces is still available.
You can book online at http://refugedugouter.ffcam.fr/resapublic.html and at http://refugedugouter.ffcam.fr/resapro.html if you are professional guide member of the UIAGM.
Before you book, please carefully read background information about the process which can be found at http://refugedugouter.ffcam.fr/faq.html
The French Alpine Club warns climbers to be well prepared to climb Mont Blanc, and that includes booking a spot at the hut. If the hut is full, climbers are advised to postpone their ascent to another day. Alpinists who have not booked their spot will not be allowed inside the hut.
Note: Camping and bivouacking are forbidden by law in the classified areas of Mont Blanc. Climbers are advised officials will be enforcing the law this year to ensure that no rules are broken.
Another option is to camp at the base camp of Tête Rousse where there is space for 50 tents. Please contact the Tête Rousse hut warden if you wish to stay at Tête Rousse.
