The UIAA looks forward to taking the opportunity to meet with partners, member federations and stakeholders in the world of climbing and mountaineering at the Outdoor2017 trade show held in Friedrichshafen, Germany from 18-21 June.
The 24th edition of Outdoor will welcome 965 exhibitors from 40 countries and sees leading international brands attending and numerous new themes.
The outdoor marketplace is evolving further and opening up more to new sectors that address a wider target group. The organisers want to help drive this development forward at OutDoor 2017 with a new, innovative concept – “OutDoor Plus.” These extended themes are designed to strengthen the synergies between the outdoor industry and other sectors,” explains Stefan Reisinger, Head of OutDoor.
The new “Running Center” in Hall B4 presents all OutDoor running expertise together with new players on board and innovations from the worlds of footwear, apparel, accessories and digital gadgets.
With the new “Hangout” area in the Open-Air Grounds West, OutDoor is hosting a fusion of outdoor lifestyle, BBQ area, chill-out zone and product presentation. The trade fair’s outside exhibition areas will be celebrating the happy-go-lucky side of life and creating a space devoted to outdoor joie de vivre.
Water sports covers a wide range of activities, which have become more and more important at OutDoor in recent years. As a result, the “Water Sports” area is expanding steadily with products such as canoes and kayaks, SUP boards, swimwear and accessories. This gives international brands better opportunities to present their product innovations with a stronger show profile and in workshops.
“Lifestyle Collection” in Hall A6 is devoted to athleisure wear and urban fashion – trends that continue to influence both the outdoor and urban lifestyle markets. There’ll be all the latest aspects of lifestyle trends from the worlds of apparel, footwear and accessories for trade visitors in a specially-created market place.
OutDoor 2017 is occupying an area of 85,000 square metres over eleven halls and both open-air exhibition grounds. In addition, the supporting programme includes tried-and-tested favourites. The large number of new products on show in Friedrichshafen is reflected in the OutDoor Industry Award. Once again in 2017, an international panel of experts will be assessing the most innovative entries to decide who should receive one of the prestigious design awards. Keeping their finger on the pulse as ever, the EOG and Messe Friedrichshafen will be bringing together industry representatives at the OutDoor Conferences.
There is an extensive programme of events, including a keynote address by microadventure expert Alastair Humphreys, and large numbers of influencers at the OutDoor Blogger Base, organised together with the Outdoor Blogger Network.
The 24th OutDoor is open to industry visitors only from Sunday 18 June to Wednesday 21 June 2017 (Sunday to Tuesday from 09:00 to 18:00 and Wednesday from 09:00 to 17:00). For more information, including the index of exhibitors or programme, visit: www.outdoor-show.com
