AUSTRIA: CHANGES TO SEMINAR PROGRAMMES
UIAA full member – Verband Alpiner Vereine Österreichs (VAVO)/Austria – has published regularly updates about the impact of Covid-19 on its programmes, notably hiking guide activities.
The below is a translation from the original in German.
Which hiking guide seminars are cancelled?
Due to the current regulations of the federal government on the handling of the new virus SARS-CoV-2, we are forced to cancel the following hiking guide seminars with a heavy heart:
April 23-26, 2020, basic module Unterach
04- 07. May 2020, basic module Unterach
May 21-24, 2020, basic module hospital at Pyhrn
June 18-21, 2020, Intensive Module Hospital at Pyhrn
For participants who have already registered for the above-mentioned intensive module (June 18-21), there is the option of rebooking at a later date.
For all other seminars, we currently assume that we can conduct them on the regular dates.
What alternatives are there currently?
For participants who have already registered for the above-mentioned intensive module (June 18-21), there is the option of rebooking at a later date:
June 25-28, 2020, intensive module Tauplitzalm
September 3 – 6, 2020, Spital am Pyhrn
We will keep these two intensive modules in our program until further notice. Both are currently still available. Please let us know your rebooking requests at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are also trying to find a solution for the participants in the cancelled basic modules.
At the moment it is not foreseeable when the measures taken to contain the coronavirus will be relaxed again. We can therefore not yet seriously estimate when we can conduct our seminars again sensibly and in the usual quality.
Nevertheless, we are working on possible alternatives in the background. As soon as the external framework allows a new start for the implementation of the basic modules, we will of course inform you as soon as possible about which course dates we can offer at which locations.
Until then, we will of course be happy to answer any questions – please preferably by e-mail to email@example.com
We wish you a lot of patience, creativity and health for the remaining time and we look forward to getting to know you at a hiking guide seminar!
