Chamonix UIAA Autumn Camp
September 8 - September 18
A UIAA youth camp will be held in Chamonix, France from 8-18 September. The event is organised by the Romanian Alpine Club.
The main purpose of the camp is to acquire basic techniques in various terrains: rock(classic and traditional), glacier trekking, mixed terrain, crevasse rescue.
Location: To be determined (TBD), Chamonix area (for instance UCPA Chamonix)

Participants: Young people aged 18-30. Maximum 8 spots, of which 2 are reserved for CAR (Romanian Alpine Club).
Requirements: Participants must be familiar with basic knots, anchors, movement with crampons and ice axe.
Insurance: Participants must provide proof of valid insurance for accidents, rescue, travel, and third-party liability. Insurance will be checked upon arrival.
Entry Documents: Participants are solely responsible for the validity of entry documents into France.
Price: 600 euros per participant, an advance payment of 200 euros will be transferred via bank transfer to confirm registration. The price does not include accommodation, meals, and transportation.

Itinerary:
Day 0: Arrival in Chamonix / accommodation / itinerary briefing
Day 1: (or arrival in Chamonix) visit to the Alpine Museum, visit other relevant sights (we
can discuss if ENSA, PGHM, etc.), afternoon briefing and theory (at accommodation –
ideally in a common space adapted) 1:8
Day 2: Rock fundamentals (1) – moderate terrain 1:4
Day 3: Rock fundamentals (2) – intro to trad climbing 1:4
Day 4: Snow travel and glacier trekking 1:4
Day 5: Mixed terrain fundamentals 1:4
Day 6: Crevasse rescue 1:4
Day 7: Individual program / alternative organised by students
Day 8: Individual program / alternative organised by students
Day 9: Individual program / alternative organised by students
Day 10: Conclusion of CAR program / individual program or return home
