The UIAA Newsletter for October 2017 is now available to view.
The UIAA looks forward to welcoming member federations, commission delegates, honorary members, partners and other dignitaries to the 2017 UIAA General Assembly in Shiraz, Iran on Saturday 21 October. The GA will provide an opportune moment for the UIAA to report on the progress it has made during the first year of its Strategic Plan 2017-2020. During the GA, the winner of the 2017 UIAA Mountain Protection Award will be announced. The 2017 UIAA Respect the Mountains season concludes with events in Spain and Wales while the UIAA announces details of its partnership with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO)’s 10YFP Sustainable Tourism Programme (STP). The host country of the 2018 UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships is confirmed.
